We have reviewed the information you sent and thank you for considering Devcon Construction, Inc. for this very exciting project. Devcon Construction, Inc. has been in business for the past 37 years. Our company has grown from a volume of $6 million in 1976 to $750 million in 2012 and we expect to well exceed that number for 2013. Pre-Construction Services/Value Engineering:

We work collaboratively with the design team to provide constructability review and value analysis throughout the design phase. Our team of Subcontractors and in-house Mechanical and Electrical Coordinators review plans and offer cost saving ideas that will benefit the project.


Construction Services:

Our Project Managers and Field Superintendents strive to meet the demanding needs of our
clients with expeditious and reliable service. With over 50 million square feet of office, educational, commercial and
industrial space built, we have been instrumental to the rapid growth of Silicon Valley. In 2007 we opened an office in
Stockton, CA in order to better serve our Central Valley clients. We have additional satellite offices in San Francisco,
Santa Cruz, Petaluma, CA as well as Reno, Nevada.​

 

Construction Manager Services:

We have successfully provided CM services on many projects, including San Jose
Civic Center, UC Santa Cruz Infill Housing, Humanities & Social Science Buildings, McHenry Library Addition,
Watsonville Civic Plaza, Santa Cruz Courthouse and City of Brentwood Library Annex, to name a few.
Keeping up with the latest technology such as BIM, NavisWorks/3D Model and Vela Systems is a high priority for
Devcon. In addition, we currently have 48 LEED Accredited Professionals on staff.

SPORTS FACILITY PROJECTS (Partial List)


SHARKS ICE RINKS 5 & 6 EXPANSION, San Jose:
Design/build construction of a 2-rink addition to the existing San Jose Sharks complex in Downtown San Jose,
California. The 96,000 square foot addition includes a 5,000 seat facility complete with locker rooms, concessions,
large scale restroom facilities, a professional locker room, and two story observation platforms. Both new rinks are
supported by a single ice plant complete with dehumidification and highest technology controls. Project also includes
all new infrastructure, site work and storm water treatment. The project will receive a LEED Silver rating. $27 Million

 

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES – MLS SOCCER STADIUM, San Jose:
Development of a 14.5 acre site to accommodate an 18,000 seat Major League Soccer stadium with a 24,000 SF team
office building. The stadium consists of luxury suites, press box, and concessions, and features a steel structure with
aluminum decking, CMU concourse buildings, metal panels, metal screening and a partial canopy. The office building,
which is a steel structure with glass, metal panel and CMU skin, consists of office space, team lockers and showers,
coach and referee facilities, ticketing office, and physical therapy/training areas. $70 Million

 

OAKLAND A'S BALLPARK & VILLAGE, Fremont:
Pre-construction services for the 183 acre site development that includes a 32,000 seat baseball park, mixed use
district and residential development in Fremont, CA. Services include management and reporting of the EIR process
for the Project Sponsor, proposed schedule and phasing studies, ballpark and sitework budgeting and value
engineering, and ballpark constructability analysis.

PRINCIPALS
 

Gary Filzetti, President of Devcon Construction, Inc., manages a company active in all phases of Construction,
Development, and Architectural Design. He continues to supervise the firm’s estimating and construction activities
which encompass as many as 100+ individual projects at any given time.


Filizetti joined Devcon in 1980 and served as Vice President in charge of Estimating and Construction until his
appointment as President in 1986. Over the years, he has been directly involved in the construction of more than
twenty million square feet of tenant improvement work and over thirty million square feet of building shells including
major facilities of Cisco Systems, Inc., Adobe Systems, SGI, Yahoo! and Network Appliance. Specialized construction
projects include a state-of-the-art training facility for the San Francisco Forty-Niners football team and the San Jose Jet
Center, a privately owned and operated airport facility accommodating both private and corporate aircraft.
A veteran with more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Filizetti served as project manager for
another large Northern California construction company immediately prior to joining Devcon. He also serves as a
contract negotiator for Fairchild Semiconductor in both the Bay Area region of California and in the Far East.
A graduate of Santa Clara University, Filizetti holds both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master of Business Administration
degree in Commerce. 

 

Bret Sisney, Vice President, is responsible for the Accounting, Finance and Investment Departments. He manages
daily and long-term accounting and the corporate banking functions. Sisney also oversees Devcon’s investment and
development projects, and he is in charge of the company’s pension and profit-sharing plans.
Before joining Devcon in 1988, Sisney, who is a Certified Public Accountant, worked eight years for the international
accounting firm of JPMG Peat Marwick, where he specialized in auditing real estate and construction companies. At
Peat Marwick, he was a senior manager working on both real estate development and construction companies,
including closely held construction companies like Devcon. In addition, he has worked with a number of high tech
companies both public and private. Sisney earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Santa Clara University in 1980.

He is a member of the California State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public

Accountants and the Construction / Financial Manager Association.
